HAMMERS SIGN DEFENCEMAN CHAS SHARPE TO ONE-YEAR AHL CONTRACT

The Hamilton Hammers announced today that they have signed defenceman Chas Sharpe to a one-year American Hockey League contract.
Sharpe, 22, hails from Orillia, Ontario, and played the 2025-26 season with the Toronto Marlies, appearing in 33 games and recording three goals and six assists for nine points. During the Marlies' Calder Cup championship run, Sharpe added one assist in five postseason games.
Sharpe spent the 2024-25 season with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, where he tied for the team lead in goals with 25 and ranked third in team scoring with 46 points in 63 games. His 25 goals were the most by an ECHL defenceman that season, and he was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team.
The six-foot-three, 205-pound defenceman played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with the Mississauga Steelheads prior to beginning his professional career. Sharpe recorded 31 goals and 85 assists for 116 points in 222 career OHL games.
